Upper Valley Jewish Community
Mission Statement – We are a welcoming, egalitarian congregation providing Jewish spiritual, educational, social and cultural opportunities to the Upper Connecticut River Valley.
Organization Description – The UVJC offers religious services on Shabbat and holidays, and we service all life cycle celebrations, from the bar mitzvah to the loss of a loved one. We also have a religious school that meets twice weekly, as well as many educational opportunities and community events for Jews of all ages. The UVJC holds services on Shabbat and Jewish holidays at the Roth Center. Consistent with our diverse membership, we offer a mix of traditional and Reform services, as well as services geared to Hebrew School students and their families and young “tots.” All services are fully egalitarian.
Kabbalat Shabbat services are generally led by Dartmouth Hillel students and begin at 6:00 pm. When College is in session, services are followed by Shabbat dinner at 7:00 pm, provided at no charge for both students and community members. Both the services and the dinner are open to all.
